I didn’t start as a marketer...
I started as a teacher, coach, and husband trying to pay off $300,000 in student loans.
Back then, I worked 60-hour weeks as an athletic director... coaching kids by day and grading papers by night.
It was meaningful work, but I was burned out.
We had the degree. The job title. The “American dream.”
But the math didn’t add up.
So, in 2015, I started a side hustle cutting lawns and learning how to make money online.
No investors.

By 2017, I launched my first blog, Money Life Wax.
I had no clue what SEO meant. I used Wix instead of WordPress. Still, I showed up.
I wrote when no one was reading... & I learned how the internet actually works.
That blog grew to hundreds of thousands of readers, got featured in Forbes, Savology, Yahoo Finance, and Business Insider, and was eventually sold in 2021.

About Josh
I’m Josh Hastings — husband, father of three boys, and founder of a digital strategy business that helps local home service companies scale the right way.
With three kids under the age of 5 - systems and time blocking rule my life (in a good way).
But it didn’t start with a perfect plan. It started with $300,000 in student loans, 60-hour workweeks, and a late-night conversation with my wife, Lauren, back in 2015:
